Laurel Hill Solar Farm 2017-2018

Project Description:
Laurel Hill is a 10MW solar PV farm based in Donaghcloney, Northern Ireland. The Omexom Renewables Business Unit, working under the EPC contractor Engie Fabricom, undertook full project scope for the electrical balance of plant; including design construction & installation, supervision of works and commissioning.
Laurel Hill is one of the last projects to be build under the NI Renewable Obligation Scheme. As such, the project had to be completed and energised under a set deadline of February 2018, before the closing of the NI ROC Scheme.

Ewe Hill Windfarm 2015-2017

Project Description:
Ewe Hill WF is a Windfarm comprising of 22 x 2.3MW Siemens turbines located in Lockerbie, Scotland, a development by Scottish Power Renewables.
Omexom UK Renewables, employed by the main contractor I&H Brown, undertook the electrical design, equipment procurement and installation works together with the Commissioning and overall Project Management of the WF substation DNO connection to the turbine switchgear.

The first phase was 6 turbines and phase 2 was a further 16 turbines has an overall operating capacity of up to 50.6MW.

  • Barmoor Wind Farm (12 MW) 2014-2016

    Project Description:
    The Barmoor 275 / 132 kV substation was constructed to facilitate the connection of a new wind farms on a greenfield site in northern Scotland.
    Omexom UK Renewables undertook:

  • the design,
  • the electrical equipment procurement,
  • the construction and installation works together with commissioning and the overall project management of the wind farm substation, including supply and installation of the array EHV cabling.
